‘re-thinking’ some of the parables … No.9

MANCHILD ARISE!

THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED!

Luke 7: 11-16
   (American Standard Version)

11.  And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain; and his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

Nain: from Hb. And means home, pasture or pleasant place. This speaks of the true place the Church should be in!

12.  Now when He drew near to the gate of the city, behold, there was carried out one that was dead, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

Gr. text reads = ‘carried out a son’ (Son= HUIOS = a mature son!!!), the only son of his mother.

13.  And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

Christ had compassion for HER. He saw her need. . . and we it too!

14.  And he came nigh and touched the bier: and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.”

‘young man’ . . . this expression of God … this ‘son’ … has not been around that long!

15.  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother

16.  And fear took hold on all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is arisen among us: and, God hath visited his people.

This account has been included for those who have ears to hear in this hour. It is therefore a parable to us. What is our Teacher (Holy Spirit within) purposing to communicate of the heart of God to us?

The ‘mother’ represents the ‘Church’ system at this time who has a ‘manchild’ (huios) within her, but to all intents and purposes, it seems her Husband is ‘dead’ because she, herself, runs the ‘Church’ and His Lordship, direction and authority are not present. However the whole message of the  ‘manchild’ has actually been in the process of dying for quite some time.  It is as if the ‘manchild’ is ‘dead’ in her thinking, planning and operation. This sincere mother was arranging the funeral — removing all evidence that a ‘son’ had even been there in her midst.

‘Christ and many of His disciples’ is a picture of ministries with the word of life of the Kingdom of Heaven/God. Christ came by and touched the coffin (bier). This manchild was literally all ‘boxed in’ (except for the lid) and couldn’t speak at all! All that was needed was for Jesus to  dispense resurrection life to this HUIOS-mature son.  This ‘son’ received an impartation of resurrection life and immediately declared the word of the Lord from his new alive position.

This is the true picture of the hidden life present in God’s people. The manchild, now with resurrection life, was then given back to the mother. God so loves Mother-Church and the world, that He will give His corporate ‘son’ (His Body, His many-membered Self) that the ‘Church’ will receive the Life again that God has intended all along would be hers.

Today’s testimony that unfolds here, is that the true Church and people around will glorify God and declare the truth that God has again visited His people.  Even on the cross Jesus spoke a prophetic word to John and to Mary, His mother. To the Mother-Church Christ is saying, ‘Woman, behold your son … behold the manchild … behold the expression of Sonship’. And to John He said, ‘Son, those called into sonship, behold your Mother . . . do not be neglectful towards your Mother’. Both aspects of God’s calling and purposes are needed to come forth in due order. God hath visited his people … God has His way of showing up right on time and declaring Himself in His people and to His people show the house to the house.

To those who have been apprehended by God to walk in the Kingdom truths in love, let us not in any way malign the Church (for the people in the religious systems of man are truly loved even though God abhors all the mind games that ‘man’ does supposedly ‘in His name’!), but rather have the same compassion that Jesus had in this account . . . for she shall receive the life she has need of.  When this happens, there will be much people of the city with her. Hallelujah. §
