POSSESSING THE SON
“This is the record, that
God has given us eternal
life, and this life is in
His Son. He that hath the
Son hath…” (1 John 5:11-12)
Jesus Christ is LIFE and
LIGHT, and when He is
enthroned in us, we have
both life and light. Hence
it is essential, imperative
that we seek not the effect,
but the Cause. “He that hath
the Son hath…” the next word
in the verse is “life,” and
this is gloriously true, but
we omitted the word for one
reason, to emphasize the
fact that “HE THAT HATH THE
SON HATH” - hath all that is
needed, life, light, peace,
victory. All that is in the
Son, as He dwells supreme in
us, is ours. “For all things
are yours; whether Paul or
Apollos, or Cephas, or the
world, or life, or death, or
things present, or things to
come; all are yours; and ye
are Christ’s, and Christ is
God’s.” (1 Cor. 3:21-23).
What’s in the Son? “In Him
all fullness is pleased to
dwell.” Hence, “He that hath
the Son hath!” And the glory
which Thou gavest Me, I have
given them; that they may be
one, even as We are one.”
(John 17:22).
If you would be holy, don’t
try in yourself to become
holy through many pious
experiences, just seek to
have the Son dwell within in
fullest expression, and
holiness will be the effect,
of which He is the Cause.
When He is supreme within,
we will be holy, for He is
holy; we will be spiritual,
for He is spiritual. All
this will not be some
self-arrived-at state
wherein self will have to
keep up its maintenance, and
of course, utterly fail.
When He rules and reigns
within, we are kept by HIS
power. “Kept by the power of
God through faith unto
salvation ready to be
revealed in the last time.”
(1 Pet. 1:5).
We need not seek
immortality, when we have
the Son, He is our Life, and
He hath “abolished death,
and hath brought life and
incorruption to light
through the gospel.” (2 Tim.
1:10). We set not our
affection on the earth, but
on HIM, for “our life is hid
with Christ in God. When
Christ, our life, shall
appear, then shall we also
appear with Him in glory.”
(Col. 3:3-4).
