ADMIRED IN HIS SAINTS

“When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe.” (II Thess. 1:10)

When we come to that point in our experience that we no longer try to measure and conform to every man’s tradition and carnal standard, but seek only to be conformed to the image of Christ. He will be seen, glorified and admired in us. There will be a revelation of WHAT WE ARE WITHIN, “For the day shall declare it.” (I Cor. 3:13).

Long-faced, gloomy Christians are not attractive to the world. Nor just a jolly ho-ho psuedo-joy that some try to portray because they feel they must if they are to look and act like Christians. Any type of ‘put on’ is easily discerned for its façade by the majority of mankind. Not until our INNER BEING emanates the love of Christ, regardless of how unlovely the situation, and the true joy of the Lord in the midst of sorrow, with all the fruits of the Spirit revealed through our character and state of being, then will there be a manifestation that causes Christ to be admired in His people.

“Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me,
All His wonderful passion and purity,
O Thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine,
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.”

It is not to be a dual image, that makes for confusion. A double exposure of film causes both images to be blurred by the other. While still in our BECOMING process, some days people see more of Christ in us, and on other days some of the remaining carnality is revealed. This causes a bit of confusion, the image is blurred and hazy, so well spoken is the line, ‘please be patient, God isn’t finished with me yet”. But praise Him for that assurance that He who hath begun in us a work that is good, will also bring it to a successful conclusion in the day of Jesus Christ. So for now we say with John the Baptist, “HE must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30).

O the wonder of His grace that works within,
Till His life alone is seen, free from sin.
