WITH PLAN AND PURPOSE

“Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world.” (Acts 15:18)

The evidence of the Scriptures soon becomes clear that God has a purpose working through the ages. There are no accidents or surprises to God, He has full knowledge of all that is happening, and He is in total control of every happening.

When the time had come, according to God’s plan and schedule, Christ, “Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, was manifest in the last times for you,” (I Peter. 1:20). Though fully known, purposed, ordained before the world began, His manifestation as SON OF MAN did not take place till the fullness of time had come - every facet of the plan perfectly dovetailed together, in the right place, at the right time, to fulfill all that God had spoken. And in due time the rulers of the people were all gathered together against Him, to do “whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel determined before to be done,” (Acts 4:28). “Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, Ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain,” (Acts 2:23).

Of a certainty, “the Lord hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil,” (Proverbs 16:4). “I have created the waster to destroy, “ (Isaiah. 54:16). It was ‘wicked hands’ that crucified Him, but even this deed could not be done until He was “delivered up” according to the plan and purpose of God. The Lamb to be slain, and the slayer, were both prepared and appointed by God to meet at that precise hour to fulfill His plan. “And what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour,” (John 12:27). Because it was God’s plan, made the wicked hands no less wicked, nor did it make the suffering of the flesh less painful, but the victory was also secure, the glory would be realized, triumphantly to His praise. The wicked would be punished, the cross would be endured, and the eternal victory would come.
