Just-A-Thought No. 477      (September 18th. 2015)

Parable of the Soils … that’s us!                                                            (Matthew 13:) Parable given by Jesus out of doors as compared to the following 4 parables being given indoors. This account is usually known as The parable of the Sower a closer look reveals that the SOWER (Christ-Jesus) was/is unchangeable… constant. The SEED (the Word of the Kingdom**) is all good … constant. Now we come to THE SOILS.not constant but variable just like us which they represent. The soils that Jesus included started with  ---  a much traveled path (v.4) where it seems everyone goes ... which made for a very hard surface and the birds (= those thoughts we have that constantly push in to be front and center) and rob the Sower of  increase. Then the record draws our attention to the seed on the stony places  … those shallow-rooted believers where there has been very little preparation to their soil to receive the seed resulting in some poor roots bringing unsteady growth. This seed trying to come forth would be surrounded by thorns; these unwelcome weeds put up some prickly resistance to being removed! Now by contrast there is some good soil. The GOOD GROUND (that’s us with huge potential) varies (v,8). The seed here was/is purposed to bring forth a 100% satisfying crop to the Owner and yet the soil varies. Depending on the genuine hunger to fulfill one’s destiny will determine one’s efforts ... from 30-fold soil preparation, from 60-fold soil preparation or from 100-fold soil preparation. Father wants all growth to be established. The quality of the of the soil and its preparation depends on one’s sincerity, commitment and stick-a-bility. Our Father-Sower desires increase and fruit and He desires such from all in due course. Remember today you are the chief gardener of your ‘Garden-of-Eden’ and you cannot ignore any weeds stealing the life in your soil.
