THE SON OF MAN

Part 1

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"

Mat 16:16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."

Gen 1:26. God the Father said, "let us make Man in our own image" that is exactly what he meant. Since God the father is Spirit, Man is also Spirit. Now, at this time we should ask. Who is the son of Man? And the answer is, Adam, later to be formed as a full-grown man. We also can see from 1Cr 15:45 there is a first Adam (living soul) and a last Adam (quickening spirit). Interestingly enough the second Adam was put on this earth as a new born baby, not as a grown man as was done with the first Adam. We will address this later.

We can find the words Son of Man 270 times. In the Old Testament the Son of Man is usually referring to a messenger of the Lord, or a prophet of the Lord. There are 85 times in the New Testament where you can find The words Son of Man. It is Jesus who brings up the subject of The Son of Man and in most cases it was Jesus himself making the assertion that He was the Son of Man, Mat 16:13 .

Am I a tri-person being or three individuals in one? Later in this study we will see that we can not be the same person from the moment one of our three parts is missing.

In order to better understand this study we will need to address some related topics such as:

Is it possible for some one to remain alive without a soul (will, desires, anger, hate...etc)?

Well, at present time our science has been able to keep people "alive" with the aid of special machines and instrumentation. Some Computer Scientists would even say that people in that condition would be perfect candidates to give them a computer brain. These people are often labeled as living in a vegetative state. (So, if the body is "alive", is one truly living or simply existing? Some would argue that this vegetative state is not truly living because the body could not functionally survive on its own because the body is missing something which gives the person cognition, feelings, thought, and expression. The person becomes soulless. So, it would seem that the body can remain "alive" without a soul. With this as a point of reference, let us ask the following question.)

Is it possible for some one to remain alive without a Spirit? ( Also, as a foundation you need to realize that we are a tri-person being as is recorded in 1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.).

To answer that question of life without the Spirit, we’ll have to go to Gen 2:7. Here we can see that our Lord and Father gave specific instructions to be followed or else death would come. When Eve partook of the fruit and gave it to Adam, did they drop dead? Well, did death come? Is God a liar, or do we simply not understand what God meant? Most everyone will agree that they indeed died and did so in the Spirit (some do not agree that they died in the spirit…it seems most believe that the death received was that of the body…it just took several years for them to die –i.e. a process of aging, disease, and death… But you see, this death of the body is as a result of being deprived from the Tree of Life.). From that point on, Humanity did not have the vehicle to directly communicate with our Father. The state of "fallen" Humanity existed until Jesus the Anointed (Christ) one came to us in the form of Man.

Going back to Gen 1:26 we can see that Man was made in the Image of God. So now let me ask you, when you stand in front of a mirror, what is real? Is the image behind the mirror the real you? Or, is it the one in front of the mirror? No doubt the answer will be, the person that is standing in front of the mirror. In the same manner, Our Father and God is truly Real (He is the Life), and the first Man is his reflection. In order for the Image "The Man" to communicate with the father he had to have a Spirit.  We can now understand that with the death of the Spirit in Man, man could not and was not able to see the Father. The natural man could only see with his natural eyes the state of nakedness in which he was in (Gen 3:7). He could not see in the Spirit anymore. He could not see what God was doing. The Spirit was the vehicle God chose so that Man could communicate with God. Also it is plain to see what Jesus meant by his comment when he said. "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do " Jhn 5:19. Can you now understand, that this is one of the most important revelations in our present walk with our Father. It is He who moves, and we in turn move with Him, by the power of the indwelling Spirit. We cannot help it but move when he moves. He is Real, and we are but his image in this world. We must allow our Spirit to follow the Life of the Father in front of the mirror.

Man is the Image of God. The first Adam was formed out of the ground and the breath of life was given to him and  became a living soul Gen 2:7. Now, this was the Son of Man and also the first Adam.  Latter, the Last Adam made his appearance as a quickening Spirit  1Cr 15:45.

The word quickening in the Greek is written as zoopoieo {dzo-op-oy-eh'-o} and it has the following meaning in our own language: 1. to produce alive, begat or bear living young, 2. to cause to live, make alive, give life, 3. by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate, 4. to restore to life 5. to give increase of life: thus of physical life, 6. of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life.

That is why when Jesus comes to our heart we can not just say, "He is in may heart" and that‘s it. He came to produce life to bring us out from the dead. He has caused us to live and make us alive. By His Spiritual power he has made us alive. He has restored our life from the leaving dead. We now should be aware that we have been operating out of the soul realm (out of our mind our feelings and understandings, out of our soul and soul mindedness). It is time not to be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind Rom 12:2.

Since the quickening Spirit was given almost 2000 years ago there has been very few people that have been able to realize that the vast majority of those around us are people walking and talking as the leaving dead (they are still identified with their soul). It is not until Jesus becomes real in our lives that we cannot help but identify ourselves as having received the quickening Spirit of the Father.

In Mat 8:22, Jesus tells a man to let the dead bury the dead. Now, that is an odd statement. How can the dead bury the dead? Especially if everybody was "alive"; standing, walking and talking? You see, they did not have the Holy Spirit in them to bring them to life to undo what Adam had done. Therefore, they were indeed dead. They were dead walking and talking. But, from the day of Pentecost almost 2000 years ago Jesus sent us the Comforter, and the Holy Spirit was given back and is now available to all Humanity. Glory be to God!
