Response to a reader:
Hi, Greetings from Jim Phillips.
In answer for your request to explain why I don't believe there is a place called Hell that does not have an ending. There is Hell, which is an unseen place, or a buried place of fixing, changing, losing, that will be painful beyond description as our SOUL [mind, will, emotion] become aware that ALL we thought was me, turned out to be but an affliction that I inherited from the First Adam. All my hope was in that false identity that I thought was ME. It seems that I am losing all, while I am only losing all the ways and things that were keeping me from seeing the true person that I truly am. The real person that was and is God's creation, becoming freed out from under that false idea of who I am.
Most all the bible translations mislead the masses because common sense is not used. When the bible was translated into English the New Testament was translated from the Greek writings. It doesn't take a scholar to look up and see that all the confusion comes from three Greek words that have been twisted and given many meanings to suite their own ideas of what they believe, or what others have been taught. The books have to be sold and most people only want to believe what they already believe.
The English spelling of these three words are [aidios, aion, aionios].
The first word is used in only two places in the bible. Rom 1:20 &Jude 6. That word is an attempt to describe God and His status as a description of Him. We have other places that tell of God as never changing, without beginning or ending, never casting a shadow by changing, the I am One , the IS One. The description of God has nothing to do with TIME, because He is not subject to this thing that He created that came out of Him for His Son to take dominion over. God's Son who is Lord of TIME and all that is created in and by it is expressed as segments or AGES-AION = age, a period of time, something that changes. A period of time when completed things will be different.
The third word has only to do with more than one TIME. AIONIOS= ages and maybe ages and ages, but still within this thing called time that had a beginning and will have an end. This END is described in 1 Cor 15:24.
This end will be glorious when all that the Lord was to do in order to open for all to see this other Dimension of God, a SPIRITUAL--PHYSICAL dimension where the physical is a subjective wife to the spiritual husband, no longer divorced from God as we find that the real person or life that we are, is an aspect or portion of God being rayed out for more of His glory.
The Word Eternity means without beginning or ending. It is impossible to start your stay in hell if it has no beginning or ending. Eternity is a state of being. Can we say that when we have An apple and then we get More apples that we now have a MOON?
This is the kind of reasoning most must use to make the word AIONIOS to mean eternity like most of the bibles translations do. All the places that the bibles use the words,[eternity, world, for ever, evermore, ever and ever, eternal, everlasting, unending] all come from their interpretation of the last two of Greek words, aion & aionios, which simply mean age or ages.
I hope that you will check this by using the scripture to interpret the scriptures by the way they are used in general, and using some common sense . God is a God who hides Himself and only those He wishes to see these things will He reveal them to as He draws us into Him. All of us but each of us in our own order according to His final plan to lose nothing of the All that was given in to the Lord' hand to turn back over to God a finished work where All is in Christ and according to His pleasure of total victory.
Build all other scripture with 1 Cor.15: 20--28 in mind with Rom. 5: 15--19and I am in hope you will find a new and a bigger God than the loser that most people call a god. A God that knew the end from the beginning and didn't and won't have a devil or you getting the best of His plan. GOD Will DO ALL of HIS PLEASURE. We must All be brought back into him, not for our sake, " but for HIS Holy Name Sake" Ez 36:22
On our way back into Him. In God's love
