Declaring good news of real change out of, through, and into the Spirit of Jesus Christ…Rom. 12:2…Rom. 11:36

About me

I am not usually very comfortable with talking or writing about myself. I have known of and believed in God as my Savior through Jesus Christ since I was twelve. I have been baptized in the Holy Spirit since the age of twenty. That same year, I was brought into the Kingdom message. God has not really allowed me to settle into any quote-unquote religion; so I don’t have some of the hang-ups of that realm, but neither do I have some of the disciplines. I am still very much learning to be a Son. It has been a rough life, but I am still here and kicking.  Attesting to the greatness and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, I am finally able to proclaim to whoever will listen that our God reigns supreme over all.

I was born, Larry Bryan Hakala on Dec. 12, 1960. I grew up in a military family, so I have been to and/or lived in most parts of the U.S., and have seen some of Europe. I attended six different schools growing up, and six Universities and or Trade Schools. Some see this as a sign of instability; I just figure that I never really did find out what it is that I wanted to be when I grow up. I have had to rely on God for my life directions for many years now. I cannot claim to have followed the path of righteousness perfectly that entire time; but like David, I have been brought to the conclusion that wherever I go, I am never away from His presence. Now, this knowledge brings me great comfort.

I tend to have a self-effacing sense of humor, at least at first. The reason for this is, I try to make people feel comfortable by letting them know that I can take a joke. I have long believed that if you can’t take a joke at your expense, you should not poke a joke at someone else’s expense. As I grow more comfortable in your presence, you will find I am not afraid to poke a joke either. But I will almost always start on me to make you feel comfortable.

I am called a Psalmist. God has given me a gift to write; so I write of His transforming power and greatness. My entire life to this point has been about change and transformation, so I write about what I have been through and know. We are being transformed into His image. I can think of no better subject about which to write. Oh, I play a little music and sing too. I trust I can be a blessing to you. Feel free to contact me, as I trust you would be a blessing to me as well.

Joy and peace to all who read in Christ Jesus…Larry.
